Cache County Teen Age Republicans have a great opportunity to serve their community and country while learning about the political process. As a TAR, you become aware of national and international issues and how current events impact your life.

With the Primary Elections over it's time to research the candidates to see what they are all about. Unfortunately the average voter does not take the time to research who would best represent their values which is why the Caucus/Convention system is so vital to our voting process.
Under the Caucus/Convention system voters gather in neighborhood meetings and county conventions to thoroughly vet the different candidates in order to choose the best one that reflects their values. They choose the best local and county candidates based upon their thorough vetting and they also elect their representatives to the State Convention where those representatives thoroughly vet the State Candidates who cast their votes for the candidates who best meet the needs of the people.
Under the Signature gathering process Out of State Money determines who will represent you. The only requirement to get on the Primary ballot is whether or not the candidate has met the threshold for the number of valid signatures. The Big Money PAC's from out of state determine who is on the ballot because the average candidate cannot afford to hire these professional signature harvesters.
The June 2024 Primary Election was a very good example of this. There were candidates who won their primaries that completely snubbed the party and totally bypassed the convention system because they knew it didn't matter. Because of signature gathering, Out of State Big Money decided our election.
The choice is clear.
If you want out of state money to decide who represents you then you are FOR the Signature Gathering process to get on the ballot and you support SB54.
If YOU want to decide who represents you then you are FOR the Caucus/Convention system and against signature gathering and ask for the repeal of SB54.
The Utah Republican Party has prepared a flyer that does an excellent job of explaining why the Caucus system is so important.
Look at the History, especially in 1946 shown on Page 3 of the flyer. Doesn't it seem like that same scenario has returned to Utah?

The State Convention will be here in a few months We need a lot of volunteers to help us run it smoothly and efficiently so we’re asking anyone who is not already a state delegate to please sign up through the link included.
As a big thank you, everybody who gives us 2 hours of volunteer work before the convention starts will be able to attend the convention free of charge!
All bills go through this process, until the last couple days of the session when rules can be suspended to move more bills through before time runs out at the end of the 45 day session.
